CAROL SWANSON

      Carol Swanson has been creating and teaching art for over 30 years. She creates her art in a studio at her home in Sebastopol, where she works in clay sculpture, ceramics and textile design. She enjoys experimenting with several other media, including oil painting, mosaics, collage, book making, assemblage and photography. Her work has been exhibited in public exhibitions in galleries and art centers in the United States and Canada.

     Carol studied Art and Education at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She has taught art to children and adults alike. Over the years, she has participated in art residency programs in schools in Michigan, through the National Endowment for the Arts and in California for the Artist in the Schools program in Sonoma county. Most recently, she has been teaching art and history to students at Forestville School in northern California.
